Martha Finn Brooks is a widely experienced global business leader in both corporate line management and public company board governance. Previous positions include President and Chief Operating Officer of Novelis, the $11billion global leader in aluminum rolling and recycling, and President and CEO of Rolled Products, Americas and Asia for Alcan. She spent 16 years with Cummins, the global leader in diesel engine and power generation, serving as VP, Truck and Bus Business, VP, Sales, Marketing and Distribution for the Engine Business as well as several other strategic and new business development roles. She has lived on three continents and worked in dozens of countries.
She currently serves on the board of three public companies in the global manufacturing, design and technology space—Jabil, Bombardier, and Constellium. Previously she was a board member of Harley-Davidson, International Paper and privately held Algeco Scotsman. She has served on or led multiple committees over her 30-plus collective years of public company board service—audit, human resources, finance and risk, nominating and governance, investment, and public policy.
Martha is a passionate philanthropist, active in fighting poverty and empowering women in both her adopted home Atlanta and around the developing world. She chairs the Board of Directors for CARE, one of the largest NGO’s in the world, leading work in 93 countries to fight poverty and social injustice. She brings her business skills to global efforts to build wealth and economic security for the world’s most vulnerable citizens by empowering women, impact investing, and building local value chains. She is a former Chair of the Carter Center Board of Councilors, and an active community leader. She holds two degrees from Yale—and is a member of the Board of Governors of the Yale School of Management, the Yale President’s Council on International Activities, and the Former Chair of the Yale-China Association. She and her husband are proud parents of three thriving boys.
