She brings a track record of driving innovation in traditional industries and a long-standing mission to deliver new, breakthrough experiences to industrial and automotive companies through intelligent hardware.

Shauna joined Sense Photonics in April 2020 from Google, where she led its automotive services program that brought together the Android Operating System, Google Assistant and Google Maps to provide every car a safe, seamless, self-improving connected experience. Prior, she served as Chief of Staff for Google Devices, the company’s consumer electronics division that combines the best of Google AI, software, and hardware to provide consumers with radically helpful experiences. Since April 2019 she has served on the Board of Directors of Lithia Motors (NYSE: LAD), one of the world’s largest providers of personal transportation solutions.

Shauna began her career with Ford Motor Company, where she automated manufacturing plants overseas and led Final Assembly production at a UAW truck plant in the Midwest. She then worked as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company where she focused on R&D productivity. Later, she joined automotive and commercial vehicle Tier 1 Honeywell International (Garrett) during a major transformation period. As VP of the Honeywell’s Commercial Vehicle Turbocharger platform, she revamped the product portfolio and infused new investment to transform the business from a distant No. 4 ranking in the market to first or second in each segment served globally. Her work in spearheading a Honeywell invention resulted in the company receiving the coveted PACE Award.

Shauna's interest in driving innovation then led to her joining Achates Power, a Sequoia Capital and Walton family-backed cleantech startup. She led the team there to major milestones in on-road engine performance and emissions. She also co-founded the North American Council for Freight Efficiency (NACFE). With an interest to stay at the forefront of transformative change, she joined management consulting firm Egon Zehnder as U.S. Automotive and New Mobility Practice Lead, where she helped many high-tech and traditional automotive companies transform to address the emerging autonomous vehicle space.    Shauna holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA and UC Berkeley, respectively, and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. She lives in Los Altos, Calif. with her husband and two daughters, ages 10 and 12.
