Julie Maples

Julie Maples is Co-Founder and General Partner at FYRFLY Venture Partners, an early stage venture fund based in San Francisco with focused investments in data and intelligence.

Julie brings over 20 years of venture experience as both an investor and operator. She has a strong background of early investments in SaaS, Internet infrastructure and B2B companies that use data and intelligence to reinvent industries. She has a long history of accelerating value by connecting start-ups to an extensive network of corporate partners, follow-on investors, academic talent, and resources across technology, media and sports.

As one of the first female VCs in technology, Julie has decades of experience looking outside of Silicon Valley to invest in diverse teams and emerging tech hubs. She previously founded Constantin Partners, a seed stage investment fund, and served as Director of the Internet Initiative for PFI, a telecommunications start-up which built fiber optic networks in 14 cities.

Julie currently sits on the Board of several technology companies, as well as on the National Board of The V Foundation for Cancer Research, an organization that was started by Jimmy Valvano and ESPN in 1993. She is the Founder and Chair of The V Foundation Wine Celebration, a charity wine auction which has raised over $108M for cancer research to date.

Julie holds an MBA in Finance and a BS in Entrepreneurial and Strategic Management from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
