Pablo is a Partner in the global Financial Service Practice at Oliver Wyman. Before joining in Oliver Wyman in 2018, Pablo has spent 18 years with McKinsey & Co. where he led the Corporate Finance and Strategy Practice. Furthermore, in the last 4 years Pablo has led different advisory work with focus in Payments, Fintech, and Financial Services across different markets in Latin America. Pablo leads our Mexico and Spanish Speaking Latin America offices.

Relevant experience

  • Worked extensively with the Latin American banks (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico) on a broad range of issues such as corporate strategy, consumer banking segmentation, mortgage strategy and servicing, payment and acquiring strategy, SME commercial strategy, organizational restructuring, implementation of risk based pricing, etc.
  • Served extensively one of the Mexican leading banks in accelerating its consumer market business, anchoring in loans, mortgages, credit cards, and affluent relationship banking
  • Developed payments strategy for a leading Latin American financial player, part of a large retail conglomerate. The work included analysis of market opportunities, business plans for digital wallets, PSP play, and SME credit; identification of potential partners, and support in partnership development
  • Developed more than 15 due diligence for several payment fintechs in Mexico, Brazil, and the US
  • Identification and implementation of value creative strategies for private Equity in Financial services and payments in Latin America – market opportunities scanning, target identification, value creation thesis in Brazil and Mexico
  • Served extensively a global bank across Latin America in corporate strategy, business model transformation, organizational restructuring, and IT overhaul.
