Columbus, Ohio Chapter Event

Columbus, Ohio Chapter Event

WCD Members of the Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio chapters are welcome to attend the upcoming chapter meeting.

Join your fellow WCD members in Ohio for an evening of networking, knowledge sharing, and an informal blockchain program, designed specifically to address what directors need to know now!

You’ve probably heard of blockchain, bitcoin and cryptocurrency. But do you know the real impact it will have on our future society? Will it become the new money? Is there more to it than just digital currency? Should your company be investing resources for research and development in it? If so, how much and on what? Who is already way out ahead of the curve and has an extensive patent portfolio on the technology? Could it just be a fad that will soon fade away?

In Blockchain in the Boardroom, entrepreneur, author and speaker, Jen Wolfe, summarizes the hype about blockchain in layman’s terms, why it matters and what you need to know in the boardroom about how it will affect business throughout various industries.

Jen will provide a few highlights from her book including a layman’s approach to understanding blockchain technology, an overview of what large corporations and well-funded start-ups are doing with blockchain, how the potential blockchain revolution compares to past paradigm shifts and what we can learn from it, what will have to happen for blockchain to become more than just hype and a practical approach to thinking about it for your organization.  Jen will have time for discussion, questions and critical analysis about the digital and cybersecurity shifts impacting us all.

About Jen Wolfe:  Jen is an entrepreneur, author, speaker, global IP strategist, and consultant for boards and c-suite executives on digital, cybersecurity, data privacy and emerging technologies.  She is an NACD corporate governance fellow and faculty member, is certified in cybersecurity oversight, and a former GNSO Councilor of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers.  Her personal website is:  www.jenwolfe.digital
