How I Secured My First Board

While there is not a single path to board service, there are several steps you can take to become more successful in your pursuit of your first board.

Pamela Lenehan

Pam has 18 years of experience as a public company director, serving on six public company boards where she has been chair of the board, presiding director, and chaired audit and compensation committees. Pam is co-chair of the Boston chapter of WCD and a member of the Boston Women Leaders Network, Massachusetts Women's Forum and the Boston Club.

David Greenberg

David serves as Chair of the Governance and Risk Assessment Committee and a member of the Audit Committee of International Seaways (NYSE: INSW). David's previous board experience includes serving as an independent director - and a member of both the Audit and Compensation Committees - of APCO Worldwide, and as a director of Clean Tech Group. David serves as Special Advisor to LRN Corporation.

Maria Rivas, MD

Dr. Rivas is a first time board director. She was appointed by Medidata Solutions to serve on their board and is a member of the Audit and Compensation Committees. She currently serves as Chief Medical Officer at the biopharma business of Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany, which operates as EMD Serono in the U.S. and Canada.

Maria P. Eberle is a member of the Firm's Tax Group in New York and she also serves as chair of the SALT subpractice group. She advises multinational companies on a full range of state and local tax matters, including tax controversy and litigation.
