Environmental, Social & Governance Initiatives in the Board Room

Investors including Vanguard and Blackrock are increasing their focus on boards' oversight of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. Join WCD Members and experienced Board Directors, Britt Ide and Deb Frodl, for a conversation and "war stories" about ESG in the board room.

  • - NYSE Utility Company Director perspective of managing the increasing ESG focus of investors

  • - NASDAQ Biofuels Company Director perspective on the increasing investor focus on ESG – US/Global

  • - Importance of ESG being integrated into the company strategy and communication plan for all stakeholders

  • - Behind the scene stories including an activist investor shareholder campaign that passed due to lack of communication

  • - Suggestions from investors on how to engage the board on ESG and how to connect with investors

  • - ESG: one size does not fit all.  ESG is raised across industries and includes many aspects such as diversity, climate, fair pay, conflict minerals, supply chain, etc.

  • Also, Britt and Deb serve as Ambassadors of US DOE's Women in Energy Initiative, Clean Energy, Education & Empowerment ("C3E") and will share what C3E is doing to collaborate and connect and encourage more women in clean energy including board service (and learn how to nominate your company's star women for C3E Mid-Career Awards).
