Sabrina Ho Stimel, based in San Francisco, is a tax partner in KPMG’s Washington National Tax practice, specializing in providing tax compliance and consulting services to ultra-high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and closely-held businesses. She has 20 years of experience in advising founders in the private equity, venture capital, hedge, and real estate fund space.

Sabrina specializes in a wide array of complex individual, trust, estate, gift, and private foundation tax matters, with a special focus and expertise in California state tax issues and cross border wealth. Her experience includes:
Providing estate tax planning advice and liaising with the client’s counsel to properly execute their estate plan.
Advising on the structure of closely held businesses and management companies to minimize taxes.
Income tax planning on personal financial transactions, such as the sale of a personal residence or rental real estate property, purchase of or gifting of a private jet or yacht, and the individual acquisition or sale of companies for investment.
Assisting with charitable planning vehicles, such as charitable trusts, private foundations, and donor advised funds.

Background
Carol Kulish Harvey is a director in the Federal Legislative and Regulatory Services group of the Washington National Tax (WNT) practice. She provides clients and KPMG LLP professionals with analysis and practical advice on U.S. federal tax legislative and regulatory developments, policies, and issues. Carol also works closely with the Passthroughs group of WNT and has significant experience with a wide range of technical, transactional, and compliance issues associated with the federal income taxation of flow-through entities.
Carol previously served as a tax counsel for the Committee on Ways and Means of the U.S. House of Representatives. She also was a Director with the Washington National Tax office of Deloitte Tax and a Principal with Andersen’s Office of Federal Tax Services. She started her career as an attorney at a Washington, D.C. law firm. She has worked with a variety of industries over her career.

Carol has written numerous articles on a variety of technical and tax policy issues. She also is a frequent speaker at conferences and other events.
