7:15-8:00pm  Additional appetizers and networking

We are excited to welcome WCD’s new CEO, Jennifer Reynolds to join us in St. Louis. She will spend a few minutes sharing updates on WCD strategy, gaining feedback from our members and discussing upcoming events.

Our discussion will explore how investor voting behaviors are changing.  Rather than wait for companies to engage on issues of strategic importance, investors are more inclined than ever before to use their votes to push board to do so.  The 2021 season saw numerous instances of shareholders voting against directors when they believed that companies were not responsive enough to critical issues such as climate risk, DE&I, and HCM.

Our Speaker:

Stephen Brown:  Senior Advisor of the Board Leadership Center - KPMG With over 25 years of experience in corporate governance and board effectiveness, Stephen advises board and C-suites on challenges related to activist defense, shareholder engagement , ESG & stakeholder communication, board composition and governance structure strategies.  Stephen is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University and City College of New York, former CEO of Society of Corporate Secretaries and Governance Professionals, and former general counsel of TIAA-CREF.
