Washington DC Chapter Event
Dear WCD DC Chapter Members,

We hope you have had a relaxing summer.  We are pleased to announce 2 events for the fall.

Our first event will be held virtually on Monday, October 17, 2022 from 5:00-6:15pm.  DC Chapter Members Maria Ghazal, Senior Vice President & Counsel for Business Roundtable,  and Kim Dorgan, Director at Transamerica, will moderate a discussion on how corporations are navigating non-economic and social issues of the day.  We are excited to have Candi Wolff, Executive Vice President, Global Government Affairs of Citibank (NYSE: C), Tom Reid, Chief Legal Officer and Secretary of Comcast Corporation (NASDAQGS: CMCSA), and Jennifer Kent, Executive Vice President and Chief People & Legal Officer at Quad/Graphics, Inc. (NYSE: QUAD)  join us for this discussion.  Our discussion will focus on how board members should view their oversight duties with respect to non-economic and social issues of the day.

Candi Wolff is Managing Director and Citi’s Head of Global Government Affairs. Prior to joining Citi in May 2011, Ms. Wolff was a partner in the Legislative and Policy Practice at the law firm of Hogan Lovells where she represented clients in legislative matters before the Congress and the Administration.  From January 2005 to December 2007, she served in the White House as the Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs – the first female to have ever held this position. Ms. Wolff also served as head of legislative affairs for Vice President Cheney and worked for eight years in the U.S. Senate in senior staff positions in the Republican Leadership and as tax counsel to former Senator Malcolm Wallop of Wyoming. Ms. Wolff is co-Chair of the Nominations Committee of the Economic Club of DC; Chair of Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) Action; a member of the Board of the US Global Leadership Coalition; Vice Chair of the US German-American Business Council; former Chair of the Coalition for Services Industries; and Emeritus Board Member of Easterseals DC MD VA.   Candi earned her B.A. in mathematics and political science from Mount Holyoke College and her J.D. from the George Washington University School of Law.

Tom Reid is chief legal officer and secretary of Comcast Corporation. He oversees Comcast’s legal, corporate governance and strategic intellectual property functions and the company’s government and regulatory affairs and political affairs functions. Tom joined Comcast in 2019 after a successful career at Davis Polk including serving as chairman and managing partner of the firm. Tom serves as the secretary of the board of trustees of The Morgan Library & Museum, as a trustee for the Archdiocese of New York’s Inner-City Scholarship Fund and as a trustee of the National Urban League. Our second event will be a holiday reception with Jennifer Reynolds,  the new CEO of the Women Corporate Directors Foundation on Tuesday November 29, 2022 from 6-8pm at the Cosmos Club, 2121 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.  We think this will be a great opportunity for our members to network in person and hear from Jennifer on her vision for WCD.  Jennifer very much looks forward to meeting our chapter members.
Prior to joining WCD, Jennifer was President & CEO of Toronto Finance International (TFI), a public-private partnership whose mission is to promote and develop Toronto’s financial services sector, and to establish its prominence as a leading global financial center.
