2017 EMEA Institute Program


More than 70 corporate directors joined WCD for the 2017 EMEA Institute in Madrid, Spain on October 24-25, 2017 for robust discussions on critical topics affecting boards today.

The panels included:
  • From Brexit to Trump: What Does the Increasingly Complex Geopolitical Landscape Mean for Boards and Directors?
  • How Are Boards Responding to the Technology Imperative?
  • Strategic Investor Management: Comparative Approaches Across EMEA
  • Trust and Transparency: How Do Boards Show Leadership in Rebuilding Broken Trust?

The event also featured two “Conversations With” including one between Susan Stautberg, Chairman and CEO of WomenCorporateDirectors Foundation and Susan C. Keating, former President and CEO of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling and incoming CEO of WomenCorporateDirectors Foundation and a second between Halla Tomasdottir, corporate director & former Presidential Candidate of Iceland and Nancy Calderon, Global Lead Partner, KPMG LLP; Director, Global Delivery Center, Ltd., KPMG India; Director, WCD Foundation; Co-author of Women on Board.

A tour and group dinner at the famous Prado Museum was another wonderful highlight of the Institute.
