Claudio Del Vecchio

Claudio Del Vecchio is the Chairman & CEO of Brooks Brothers Group, Inc., a premier retail and manufacturing group with a portfolio composed of Brooks Brothers, Southwick and Alexis Bittar/Deconic. Claudio is also Executive Director of Luxottica Group, the world’s largest manufacturer of eyewear.

Claudio came to the United States in 1982 and was instrumental in transforming Luxottica into the premier eyewear organization overseeing its IPO on the NYSE in 1990. He would later serve as the president of the Optical Industry Association. In 1995, through Luxottica's purchase of The United States Shoe Corporation, the company acquired Lenscrafters, the largest optical retailer in the United States, and Casual Corner Group stores. Claudio assumed ownership of Casual Corner Group in 1997 and the company was re-named Retail Brand Alliance.

In December 2001, Retail Brand Alliance acquired Brooks Brothers which is America’s longest established retailer currently celebrating its bicentennial year.

Claudio has been recognized for his work with many charities including Helen Keller Services for the Blind, The Interfaith Nutrition Network, the One Sight Organization, and the American-Italian Cancer Foundation. In 2007, he established Brooks Brothers’ “Golden Fleece Foundation” which has raised millions of dollars on behalf of charities including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In 2012 he was honored by Bryant University, receiving the degree of Doctor of Business Administration. He is a board member of the National Retail Federation and in 2014 he was named into the “Cavalieri Del Lavoro,” the highest civilian honor in his native Italy.
