In conversation with Meena Thuraisingham
Please
join us at our next WCD dinner on Monday, 10th June, for what promises
to be an inspiring evening on how soft governance can help to unlock the
true strategic potential of the board, with keynote
speaker Meena Thuraisingham.
Boardroom culture,
for some time, has been recognised by boards as critical to board effectiveness
and organisational change. Despite this, it has remained largely elusive and
intangible and little is understood about how it is created, thrives and (sometimes)
turns dysfunctional. In the main the focus has been on ‘hard governance’ i.e.
corporate governance codes and regulation and the role formal structures play
in the processes of achieving board accountability.
Dr. Meena
Thuraisingham (Principal, BoardQ), whose book “Identity, Power and Influence in
the Boardroom, will share with us her research into the origins, reasons and
consequences of boardroom influence.
The event will be hosted by KPMG at Number Twenty Grosvenor Street, London W1K
4QJ on 10th June. Drinks will be served from 6.30pm and dinner will be
served at 7.00pm. Please feel free to invite any prospective WCD members who
would like to join us for the evening. Please note the meeting will be held
under the Chatham House Rule.
Please RSVP along with any special dietary requirements and additional names if
applicable, to Samantha
Heath or +44(0)2076943601.
We do hope you can attend the evening and look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes,
Noel Harwerth & Melanie Richards
