Dr. Sophie Vandebroek

Dr. Vandebroek is the founder and owner of Strategic Vision Ventures LLC and serves on the boards of IDEXX Laboratories (IDXX), Wolters Kluwer (WKL) and Inari Agriculture, a Flagship Pioneering company.

Previously, Sophie was Vice President, Emerging Technology Partnerships for IBM and Chief Operating Officer of IBM Research. Prior to IBM, she was the Chief Technology Officer at Xerox Corporation for over a decade.

Sophie was the inaugural visiting scholar at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology School of Engineering and is currently an Honorary Professor at KU Leuven, Belgium.

She is also on the Advisory Committee of the Flanders AI Research Program and on the AI Innovation Board of the Norwegian Research Center for AI. Sophie a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers, a Fulbright Fellow and a Fellow of the Belgian-American Educational Foundation.

Sophie holds a master’s degree in engineering from KU Leuven, Leuven, Belgium, and a PhD in engineering from Cornell University.
